The 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) was constituted by the Government of India to review and revise the wage structure for its civil and military employees, with its recommendations officially taking effect on January 1, 2016. A major hallmark of the 7th CPC was the introduction of the “Pay Matrix” system, which replaced the previous, more complex system of Pay Bands and Grade Pays.
